Gun type will also be largely personal preference; I spent most of the game with four guns of three types, almost all loaded with different bullets for different scenarios. Pistols are good all-rounder, rifles have better range and damage at the cost of lengthy reload times, SMGs put out a lot of bullets at lower damage, and shotguns will shoot a spray of bullets but take a second between shots.
That sounds fair.
Some things are still confusing me, like why would I need Oil + Fire for extra Fire damage (I imagine?), as opposed to Poison + Fire for double DoTs?
I don't know how the math works :')
I think I started finding some, like Napalm Powder increasing Fire Damage on Oiled targets.
So if I understand right, if I apply this powder to the Oil bullets, it would benefit the Fire bullets which could have like a Seeking Powder or something. Does that sound right?
Or does the Powder need to be on the Fire bullets?
(Hopefully this sounds similar to what other elements go through)
nvm that last bit I figured it out.
Another fun one is to apply the "adds small force to bullet" mod to your favored element. I have a cold SMG that pins enemies to walls getting collision damage while slowing them. Its brutal.
Ah for sure. I picked one to focus on for learning the ropes, but I build them all out and carry a variety of guns.
I'm a bit confused on why there's a Lightning bullet and a Lightning Bolt bullet.
I get the Bolt one must be stronger, but still. There being two makes me ponder what the strategy is supposed to go like.
I'll keep it on a Rifle to swap in for bursts in between setting things on fire.
