Occupying a victory hex on fire
I have lost several games by not being able to occupy a burning building hex that is a victory requirement even though all/most of the enemy are dead, very frustrating, very annoying. Any way around this? Once a victory building is burning there is really very little chance of winning.

Turn off the fire option in the game. You will find them in the Options Screen.

We played 100's of games now and never had this happened. Is there a scenario this is happening over and over in?

Ok, that was the intended result since things like this can happen but we are considering changing this. Give us a little time to decide what to do.

Hi - this has happened to me more than once too

I do prefer to leave the fire option on as being forced out of cover happens in real life

I take it you are not changing the actual LnL rules?

The rule is staying, just use the option not to play with the fire rules if that is an issue.

Victory hexes should be impervious to fire.

The rules state this:
"A MMC, SMC, or Crew may attempt to
enter a Fire 1 hex as part of any Move
action. To do so they pay for the cost of
Terrain to enter +1"
An hex on Fire 2 is prohibited to enter.

Still from the rules 5.1:
"No unit, including Vehicles, may enter a Fire 2 hex. If there is a Fire 2 hex that is a Victory Objective then credit goes to the last side that moved into, through or controlled the hex. Note that this will on occasion result in a victory hex being unable to be captured by one side or the other. This could result in a situation where one side or the other is unable to win the scenario. As the Romans would say-Sic vita est."

A while ago I turned off the fire rule because I was "burned" by it... Plus fires were created to frequently for my taste. One scenario half the board was burning...

i understand the frustration of not taking a victory point due to fire ,
but that comes down to dice rolls , horrible when they go the wrong way but awesome when it goes your way .
but that is the thrill of the game ,
I am still learning , but these rules have been worked over for a long time , they should not be changed , the more faithful to LnL board game the better .
if i had a screenshot of half the board burning would i turn off the fire ?
no way .
i would post that with a comment going along the lines of how many 6`s can you roll :)
did i win ?
who cares , that board was burning :)
its a game not so much about winning , but enjoying those rolls that go your way :)
You see plenty of WW2 era film footage of units advancing past burning woods, buildings etc

So< I too leave it on

We are leaving the fire rules in the game we are just double checking our board game and then the game code to make sure we translated from one to another correctly.

I raised this same point in May. It's a frequent problem in any scenario which requires a side to occupy ALL hexes, as one of them is bound to be on fire. So far in Battle Generator I've not encountered it so much, as it's rare for the victory condition to be to control ALL victory hexes. For what it's worth, there's no problem with the coding on this that I can see, it's the rule itself, which, as others have pointed out, expressly states that you may be unable to win the scenario because of a level 2 fire. This is a bit odd: the defender gets to say "General, we successfully held the command post because we allowed the enemy to burn it down." Not sure of the design solution on this though (other than the obvious player option of turning fires off). Maybe any of: "if either side needs to control a hex for victory conditions, if there's a level 2 fire in it, then that side can be treated as controlling it" (but query unintended consequences); allow entry of level 2 fire hexes with a morale check; prohibit level 2 fires in victory hexes.

I thought the fires were too frequent until I read about Nijmegen during Operation Market Garden which set a large part of the town on fire from the infantry combat according to the book I'm reading.
