Icarus
Is there a update for low frame rate?
I got three computers, one 3070,i9-10900F,128GB RAM 3200MHz, one 3060 AMD 3600, 64GB RAM 2666MHz, and one 3060 laptop,i5-10500H,16GB 2666MHz. I know they are not that good in all those players, but whenever I play Icarus, the FPS is never higher than 35, and when storms came, three of them could only have about 6~9 FPS. I tried all methods I could find, including the lowest setting, opening from GeForce experience, closing the resized bar in Bios, changing shadow to level 1, closing all those effects or setting to low, closing steam overlay, and many other methods, but neither of them worked. Especially I always play with my friends. When my friend joined the game, the FPS would suddenly drop from 30 to 15 (mostly more than half) and remain until the game ended or my friend left (if we didn't play too long), and it was not related to the network. I don't know what caused it, and I am sure if I use my old 1060 computer to play, it should burn.

Multiplayer is a pretty big performance hit if you're hosting directly. Using a dedicated server even on the same machine moves that entire process out of the main game thread and puts that load on different core which gives back a ton of performance. Here's a dev's comment about how setting up the dedicated server even on the same machine is recommended: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1149460/discussions/0/4349990283304343645/#c4349990463679384369

If you bring up task manager while playing you can see which part of your PC is holding things up. On the performance tab if your GPU is hitting 100% or close adjusting the graphic settings down will speed you up. If the GPU is not maxed and you're not at the FPS limit then it's your CPU.

The CPU might only say 30 or 40% utilization but remember you have multiple cores and a process can only run on one core. If you have 4 cores and one is maxed the task manager will only say you're at 25% utilization. Icarus runs I believe 80 different process threads and your CPU will spread them out evenly but the main timing thread is usually the one that maxes out a core and slows down all the others.

Maxed out CPU core can be alleviated with a few different things. Overclocking and optimizing for single core performance helps but is not usually an option. Most chips have a turbo boost feature that slows down adjacent cores to automatically speed up another allowing it to spew extra heat. So keeping the background processes to a minimum will allow this feature to kick in more often.

Dedicated server helps a ton to reduce CPU load if you're doing multiplayer.

Not building massive bases helps as well - less to process. I believe building out of concrete helps but I could be wrong. Concrete is weather immune so doesn't need to have shelter checks processed ever. Every bit of wood or stone piece you place needs to check for shelter so massive bases really slow things down. Extra outposts and left overs count toward your building total as well, so be sure to clean up after yourself.

Using the tree and stone respawn options helps some - those are changes in the map that have to be processed and the respawn options remove that extra work. A thumper will do the same for the ore voxels and they can be a big drain if you've ended up partially mining some.

After the latest update, even I use the dedicated server, the frame rate drops rapidly, and the screen keeps blur around even though there isn't bad weather nor in ice mountain, and the environment temperature is now 24, I am sure that bug that was in single play or main server is now updated to all players,Please remove it or else can't even play the game normally!
