IPTV lags, websites wont load... - not just lags - it wont load at all. Its like the game is DDoSing my internet
Its worst in menu before game start, when i start the game its bit better but still horrible - makes my whole internet unusable.
Funny thing is that the game itself doesnt lag at all.
I got 60Mbps down and 20Mbps UP
I straight up cannot play bcs im not the only one who uses internet and i am lagging it for 3 other ppl.
I obv restarted my TP-Link Archer C6 - did not fix the problem.
No other game does this.
I am on a 500/500 fibre line (no ways this game is pulling 50+ MB/s)
At first I thought I had a faulty NIC on my motherboard.
This is what I tried:
What did help is closing the game and wait a minute or two for my router to calm down...this helps.
Tried a few other games, it is completely fine.
I ran a ping test to 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS) and noticed high latency spikes. With my internet and pinging a local address, I get around 3ms response.
I then ran a ping to my router's IP and this is where I got a surprise...on my local network I was getting spikes of up to 3000ms. This is a ping to a device on my LAN...this should be a constant 1ms with an occasional 10ms or 12ms here and there.
Conclusion:
Icarus is storming my router.
This is crashing my local network and as stated above, The game is crashing the network not just for myself, but every other user on my local network.
This seems to have become an issue between Icarus Week Fifty Three Update and Icarus Week Fifty Five Update.
"My suspicion is that it's related to the server browser for dedicated servers. We know it has problems but also that there is a lot of data being shipped around for it. Last week's patch increased the results from 1000 to 2000.
If you want to test if that's it, go into Steam and, for the launch options, add -MaxSearchResults=10 or some absurdly low number. See if that changes how much internet traffic is being sent and received."
DId the launch option work for you?
I have set mine, but haven't tested yet (busy with other games now).
