How to cover stone base with wooden floor?

Apparently, there are two types of large stone blocks that form a basement. Aside from regular one there's one with niche to put flooring boards in. I got one by adding it to a base of a stair.
Now I wonder, ... are there also stone floors meant to have wood on top? Stone walls look suggests you could attach fine boards to them. Is that possible somehow? Will it be implemented? What about concrete walls?
