Fire charred/burnt trees - Help please :(
While doing prospects my team an I (6 players) like to explore the map and progress some levels before continuing. This means we face multiple storms, forest fires, etc. After any of them take a break and relog they cannot see any of the charred/burnt trees. This makes those areas VERY LAGGY. The host is unaffected - even if someone new rehosts they are the only ones who can see the charred/burnt trees. Is there a way to fix this because it makes prospects virtually unplayable after a severe forest fire & a relog. Some people walk near the areas and just start bouncing through the map, get stuck in stealth, get 'loading geometry' stuck on their screen, or even hard crash to desktop. They are unable to even pick up lootables or mine non-stone ore near the trees. Again, rendering the prospect virtually unplayable after that. We have tried verifying files, juggling hosts, forcing a crash. Nothing we have found can solve this issue for us.

Same for me and a friend. While it's not laggy for us, I get stuck (or he - whoever is host) in that particular area where there should be a burned tree if I run into one.
At least I was able to get myself out of that infinte loading-and-falling-thru-map-loop by just moving backwards and jumping constantly few times without needing my mate to chop the burned tree I just run into.

It becomes a massive issue when there is 4+ of us online and there are multiple charred areas on the map. :( Have you guys found any sort of fix to minimize it? We tried even clearing out a lot of the trees and it did nothing..

I dont have a solution, but back in the day, Minecraft saw a lot of similar problems with massive forest fires and data updates not going through properly to the point of them completely changing how fire spread works and how fast it spreads due to how OFTEN it overloaded server data. I actually think flammability of materials is alarmingly high, as fire spreads rapidly even in heavy rainstorms. Something in the checks and balances is just wrong and not updating to all clients correctly.

Other than the host clearing all the burned stuff and collecting the stump, no :(
But I noticed that i saw the trees again (tho already chopped) when I walked out of render-texture-stream-range. I set it down to 2000, hoping it helped, but cannot confirm anything concerning that.

Hmm, so I guess no clear solution at the moment. Hopefully it gets fixed because at the current state it means we have to rush through exploration/leveling/etc after a forest fire occurs, in order to end the prospect as soon as we can. :(

Try increasing your windows swap file size to at least 30gb, better 40gb - fixed value (min/max the same) (icarus using 23gb ram / 29gb swap file in my latest mission)
Another friend of mine (host to 4 ppl) got a fps gain of +25 on avg due to that.
Tho this won't help with getting stuck :steamsad:
