If you can, check your controller settings on steam. Lets say you have 1 controller connected but it shows 2 devices, for example X Box Controller and 2 axis 8 button controller. If it does, then you had the same issue that I did. I'm still not quite sure what new device caused the issue but I'm thinking its my new keyboard from corsair. Anyways down to explaining how to fix it.
What I had to do is go to my computers device manager and go to the Human Interface Devices. You're gonna want to right click and disable any "HID-compliant consumer control device", "HID-Compliant game controller", and "HID-compliant vendor-defined device".
A couple of them might require you to restart your system when you disable it but just disable all of them before you restart the computer.
After I did that, it worked fine for me. Here was the weird part though. It took me a few days to find a post to resolve this and for me to stumble upon this was to figure out why I had a "2 axis 8 button" device detected on steam. Also the other fact that all my other games can still use my controller before but Dragon Marked for Death was unable to do so.
Anyways, I hope this helped you out because this was bothering me for a couple of days trying to get my controller to work with this game and I almost lost hope.
Hope your games go well!
