Any Experts at Witch to guide me...
First, hello and thank you if you could help me getting some answers to these questions :)
First time playing DMFD here, and first character Wtich!

SO...

About the Healing: How's the healing calculated, to be exactly? Looks like Increasing Vitality and Piety increases the healing for the person who has these stats improved, but I don't know the math behind it. I know my own intelligence increases it as well, but don't know either the calc.

About the Level 2 and Level 3 difference:

Using the healing as an example: Noticed that the amount of HP healing, compared from level 1 to level 2, really makes a difference. its more than the double, as I could notice.

But improving from level 2 to 3, seems like around 10% improvement only, same with damaging spells.

My question is: is it worth it the time you lose casting to improve to level 3, considering you could use the time to re-start the cycle and cast more level 2 spells?

Maybe with Dragon Surge is worth the level 3, cause of the re-casts you enable. but without dragon surge, on the end game scenario, is it worth it?

Thanks for help since now! ^^

The important thing for level 3 spells is to pair it with Homing or condense; With homing it results in more projectiles/hits- So while it is only a 10% increase per projectile, when you fire 4+ more projectiles the damage increase is actually quite a bit more. Likewise with condense; It either results in more single hit damage, or a larger area of effect- With Ice in particular, condensed results in a single large hit (talking several thousand damage), for which a 10% improvement is an increase in hundreds of points of damage.

It's also quite situational. Some bosses and enemies don't leave you a lot of time to stand still- so level 1 or level 2is all you can get; Others have large periods where you can't hit them, or cant safely hit them- so why not go for level 3?

Also, your chosen element allows you to cast Level 3 of that element with only a single empowerment. So that's pretty important too.

I personally tend to cast L1 or L2 spells at most for non-bosses, and then shift to L3 on bosses most of the time, with one or two exceptions. Chosen element matters here greatly of course.

Regarding the way healing is calculated, I'm not sure exactly how it's calculated, but it seems to me to be a percentage of the total HP rather than a set value; As even with the same piety, it heals for more(Or ticks for more in the case of regen) when the target has a lot of HP as compared to when they have little. Piety seems to increase the percentage of healing done. (But again, I don't have concrete information to prove this; Just self experience.)

I see! Yeah, if you consider only the 10% increase, its not much, but considering the larger area of effect and more projectiles, makes interesting depending on situation.

Also, healing being affected by a % of total health, and piety MAYBE increasing this % makes sense I guess. Gonna try to discover how much the healing is affected, but if anyone have a solid information feel free to fill it up ^^

Thanks for the reply Shurenai ^^ I really appreciate the help

A quick tip I'd like to add (As Shurenai explained everything already) When you go into Dragon Surge you can instantly go into an empowerment spell to go straight to level 3, then you disable the surge and can enhance your spell as needed. What this means is you can keep applying boost and disabling it after casting an empowerment to go straight to level 3 for pretty much all your spell casting rather than let the surge run out. At bosses when i have full surge i cast 3 spells back to back and cancel manually, meaning i have enough dragon surge at all times to get a lvl 3 if needed. Because you auto regen a little dragon surge up to 2 bars or so makes this tactic very sustainable and i dont see other witches doing it.

Id like to add that i also believe healing regen is a % of total hp.
