Flags

What is these flags in the quest list? that means the quest has a flag to get or something, did I already get it? how I get them, I only know by reading the game tips, that if you get 8 flags, one from each area, "something" happens, I actually want to figure out by myself what that does, but I don't know how I'm supposed to get them

Some of the flags requirements are quite obscure on the level of "guide dang it". You can either try to figure them out by yourself or read a guide. For example on one you gotta get an item just before the final boss, activate a switch, then backtrack over half the entire map just to enter a relatively hidden optional area that just unlocked to kill the optional boss and get the flag on your log

The flags are the hidden progression for story. Getting all 8 flags will allow you to get the final 2 quests to give you an ending.
