Help transferring save file?
Hello, my friend has recently reinstalled steam and accidentally deleted his save file. To continue our play-through, we need a way to transfer a save to him (he is playing bandit) so that he can continue with us.
Specifically i'm trying to transfer my save to him so that he can start a new character without having to beat the game again to unlock bandit. We have tried replacing the save file in the 1149440/local folder with no luck, as the game seems to just overwrite it.
If anyone has any experience with save transferring or has any advice, please let me know!

One of my friends is having the same issue and this is a pretty big bummer because we all wanted to have a similar amount of progression

Some games doesn't let you do that, due to steam locked saves, and that's a lock made for not cheating, so that friend will probably have to unlock that class.

The game ties your save to your steam user id so unless you hex edit the save or use the same steam accout it will not recognize it sadly.
The save files for this game are encrypted to the user -- i.e., you cannot transfer saves between users, without hex editing the file itself.

Some games have save file transfer tools made for them (MHW, Remnant: From the Ashes). I've yet to find a tool like that for DMfD... Likely, because it's a niche game that haven't any hackers playing it v_v

I think this may help? https://github.com/piratesephiroth/DMFDSaveTool If it does please share your save file since I also want to start the game again but don't feel like finishing it alone to get oracle so I'm able to play with my friends after it

How to you run this thing?... It has no executable as such. It also says something about "experimental home console support"... 🤔
