Sym's Curiosity I? [Spoilers]

Does anyone know how to get Sym's first card to trigger? I have seen that it requires 20 friendship points (2 hearts) around age 14-15, but I cannot get it to pop and it is the only card I am missing other than the Unisaur gear cards. I have Sym's Curiosity II & III so I am not sure if it's a bug or if there's a specific order of events I'm just not doing right.
I'd also like to clarify that I have gotten him to 20 friendship points just without getting the card after the interaction. Sorry if this has already been asked, but I am stuck. Any advice is welcome!

I'm pretty sure you can get the card if you go exploring in early stages (10-11 age) of the game. Befriending Dyx on a spaceship and going out during the first game year will help. I don't think there is explicit trigger but every your "failure" may trigger the card. For example, I got my card after trying to reach the top of the hill and if I remember correctly

Failing the challenges gives the Mysterious Stranger I, II, & III cards, which you need all three of to trigger the event where you meet Sym! I've managed to meet him as early as age 13. but after meeting him he has the chat icon that prompts you with the options to ask to see the overseer immediately, wait, yell at him, and I think something else. Then the prompt people don't believe me/I didn't tell anybody about you. After that interaction the friendship points raise to 20 but I don't get his first card.

I figured it out!
What triggers the card is completing the flower boss event while exploring nearby. It prompts a conversation about zucchini sandwiches that Sym is curious about.
