[spoilers] How to unlock the bar, the barista job, and break up a certain couple?

Sorry for the lengthy title; just figured it'd be better to ask all of my questions in one go!

Rex keeps asking for mushroom logs but I have NO idea where to give them. Just giving them to him directly doesn't seem to have worked. :x I don't know how to break Nem and Vace up either?

Another question!!! Before I forget. How do you explore during the glow season, too? I don't have the option to leave during it.

You specifically need 30 Persuasion or 30 Empathy to break them up. There is another way by finding him be a ♥♥♥♥ or whatever somehow and offering that up as evidence but I've yet to find an example of that so whatever. I believe it's 70 friendship gets the event where you can flirt with Nem to get Vace suspicious, 80 is where she confronts you about it. If it's not that then add 10 to each.

The first time you do it, you need about 10. It's better once you get him enough in 1 run.

For the bar: I think you need to be close enough friends with Rex before the avatars move to the last stage - I had an event where Rex told me about his plan to build the bar at, like, age 15 or 16, and it did a +1 Bar progress bubble along with hearts and stats. After that, in that playthrough, I could continue to get Bar progress, partly from giving him mushwood, but also through his story events and through Construction work. In playthroughs before that, I never got close enough to him before everyone moved to the Late-Teens avatar and giving him Mushwood never gave any of the Bar progress bubbles.
Just ran it again, and yup, befriending before 16 gets the event, and then you only need to give something like 3-5 Mushwood before getting the choice to complete the bar
My personal recommendation for getting the bar the first time is to dedicate a run to being friends with Marz and Rex, as it's easier to get friendship points with them at the same time, and gives you an easily workable goal before Rex shows up.

For the Barista Job, you need to repeatedly do the Help out at the Kitchen action in the Creche, I believe. You will eventually meet Dr. Instance complaining about her drink or something and will get the option to accept the barista job.

I do not believe Barista job has anything to do with Rex's questline.

Befriend him as early as possible so you can get his aspiration scene for the bar!

You need to be older than 17 for the build to complete and give him at least 5 logs. Rex must've built his bar before you can get the barista job. I got this while relaxing in the lounge during a blue/red stat run so it has nothing to do with kitchen or empathy :)

As for the couple, aside from the high relationship thing other people mentioned, you can also get them to break up during the scene where you confront Vace about his behavior. This requires to have high relationship with Vace, at least 9 hearts I believe. Then, you need to tell him to break up with her.

If you chose that it's because "I'm in love with her" then you need 40 Persuasion to convince him that he's out of her league, or you can say you can treat her better and use that evidence to tell her to break up with him later on.

Otherwise, you can tell him that he can do better with 30 Persuasion. Or, you can tell him that you like him with a nifty 20 Persuasion and no self-respect... because then he'd ask you to be his side-piece, which you can also use as evidence against him.

Aside from this, evidence about his cruelty to others come from his confrontation with Rex, you'll know this scene immediately because it has a CG right as you enter it where he is in a fight with Rex.

When you unlock bar, the living quarters summary changes to "Rex's new bar and dance floor are very popular. During the day, the bar serves up hot blep tea and other fortifying concotions, and at night, Rex slings mulled cider..." etc. So yes, bar is required to unlock barista job because the bar is the cafe during the daytime.
