Wait, did he really die from some random manticore?
I was kind of expecting to find him again when visiting after mourning, but nope, nothing to see there.
How am I supposed to progress into the Gardener plot then?

You're on the right track. Keep checking the ridge. You might have gone there too soon.

No he does not die. You should be able to find him, it may be a bug, I'm not sure! where did you look for him?

Yeah, he reappeared the next year (when I was 19...) and it had the weird effect of unlocking the whole gardener plot at once. I very, fortunately, managed to make a deal and make humanity prosper in two colonies.

Now, I need to finish a game without getting lobotomized.
