As for the golden ending, I was referring to this quote.
"In the tradition of Rebuild 3, there will be a hard to get “good” ending that requires not just the right balance of skills and “right place, right time”, but the combined knowledge of many past lives."[northwaygames.com]
Also for that golden ending when you are doing a new game you can save Tammy and his father, Hal and Eudicot if in your past lives you learned what happened with them. You can find alongside Tang and Instance clues about the Shimmer. Oh and algo find food for your colony.
Yea, you need to get sym's relationship high enough for you encounter his 'boss' the overseer. I don't know how much rel you need but its quite a bit i think?
You need to explore the ridge and get past 2-3 of his events. One where he's attacked by manticores, which then forces you back to the colony and gives you the mourning status. After mourning (by doing other activities) you should encounter him again alive. You should then trigger the event where you meet the overseer. (Once you've encountered the overseer, subsequent playthroughs will allow you to request a direct meeting with the overseer from your past memories)
Followed by talks with the overseer, you can convince the overseer to work together with the colony to live in harmony with the planet, which he will then tell you to convince the others in the colony and to stand down during the attack at glow season.
I believe that you have to also convince the council to remove Lum as the governor (Part of Marzs event?) because when I went back to convince him, he didn't believe me (but I didn't thoroughly investigate this). I went back to an earlier save where I then manage to convince the council to vote for a show of no confidence in Lum and presented myself as a governor candidate (against Marz). With myself as a governor, after meeting with the overseer I was then able to talk to the council and convince them to accept the overseers deal.
BUT during glow season and when that Noct guy came to attack the colony, he gave out new conditions that the colony cannot have reproduction autonomy so we were then forced to renegotiate through a series of challenges which required you to have high enough stats in order to proceed (I don't remember which ones but one of them was animal). After succeeding in going through all 3 challenges/negotiations, you will then be given reproduction rights and to live in harmony with the planet.
NOTE: I think all this has to be done during age 19.
Also with Tang you get an event to create a biological weapon against Instance's will, you can persuade her to drop that idea and later persuade the governor to stop threatening Instance with the evidence you collected with Tang.
On another point you can stop Dys's bomb if you have enough relationship with him
In my first run Tang didn't need much convincing. I discovered what she was working on first, and when it's brought to her it's portrayed as she's basically in the same boat as Instance and was coerced into doing the research. Wonder what changes that.
