Bugs, Suggestions & Thoughts - EPIC Games Launcher Version - v1.0.2-RC1
Hi Arcane Embers Support,

Huge fan of the game over on Epic Games Launcher playing v1.0.2-RC1. I'm not sure if there are differences in the Epic vs Steam version. But I am going to list some bugs I've found in no particular order from playing the Epic Games Launcher version. I am only posting here as you don't seem to have anywhere to report bugs/issues on Epic Games Launcher and I've found a ton more bugs since trying to email you.

All these are on Windows 11, Epic Games Launcher using Mouse and Keyboard.

BUGS

First Bug:

The top item of the backpack can not be used, vaulted or sold, it can be scrapped though.

Context: I started a game/save as Defender for the achievement. The first part is the "Tutorial" and it says pick up the helmet and equip. It won't let me equip items or do anything with items in the very top slot of my Backpack except scrap the item. Therefore, I could not proceed with the game. This is game breaking and needs fixing.

Likewise, I can not sell items or store items in my vault in my other save that are in the top slot of my BackPack.

Also, you should not be able to scrap items you need to proceed the "Tutorial" level. I scrapped the helmet because it wouldn't let me equip it, then it was gone for good....

Second Bug:

After mass completing Bounties, they just stop working altogether. You can not complete anymore, they will not progress no matter what. I've tried switching the bounty I have tracked, I've tried completing other bounties, I've tried everything and nothing works.

Third Bug (Design Flaw):

I have made it to what looks like max level and have stopped receiving Skill Points. I have 8 Skill Points worth of perks left to unlock. Why would you design it so that we could not unlock all the skills? In my case I have 4 Skill Point Perks left to unlock but since I can not get anymore Skill Points, I can not unlock them.

In my opinion, this is a design flaw as we should be able to get enough levels or Skill Points per level to unlock every perk. Either that or be told we can not unlock every perk.

Fourth Bug:

This a Void Run bug after completing the game. The bug is as follows:

1. Beat the Game and unlock free mode;
2. Go to Portal Nexus;
3. Choose Run Setup Void --> Void Run;
4. Set the Boss on fire with the Phoenix Weapon;
5. Let the Fire kill the Boss;
6. The boss has no health and never dies. Monsters keep spawning and you have to
keep playing until you either die, quit or abort the run. This, with the right loadout,
allows you to farm endlessly and kind of defeats the purpose of having to grind to
collect resources, weapons, outfits, mods and sprays etc.

Fifth Bug:

Crafting Gadgets or buying from the Shop can let you go over the Inventory Space Cap/Limit. This works by if you have 30/30 backpack space you can keep crafting gadgets and or buying Items. This is done as follows:

1. Have a Full Backpack;
2. Go to the Crafting Station or Shop;
3. Craft a Gadget or Buy an Item;
4. You will now have 31/30 Backpack Space and won't be able to pickup any dropped
items, until you either sell or scrap enough to be under the space Cap/Limit. This
also means if you crafted 10 Med-Kits for example, you will have to sell or scrap all
10 to be able to lower your BackPack Space by 1.

Sixth Bug (Visual Flaw):

Equipping a Gadget and Scrapping whilst equipped causes it to stay equipped but be unusable. This is done as follows:

1. Craft a Gadget;
2. Equip Gadget;
3. Scrap Equipped Gadget;
4. Equipped Gadget will stay equipped with however many you had at the time of
equipping despite being scrapped and you no longer having any. This will not allow
you to use the gadget. This is more of a visual bug and can easily be fixed by
unequipping the gadget or switching it to one you do have in your backpack;
5. Deploying into or out of a Run removes the gadget.

Seventh Bug (Codex):

The Codex is bugged in the sense that it says I have 0 out of 8 NPCs found. It says to find these in Deadtime Command. However, unless I am looking in the wrong spot... I have finished the game and am max level. I have talked to all NPC's that can be talked to, numerous times. Am I not understanding something?

Nineth Bug

I am not sure if this is a bug or just a poor choice from the Devs. However, when you go into Settings --> Controls... it looks as though the controls are clickable and editable. However when you click on them or select a specific control to change, you can not actually select or change the key bind for any of the controls.

The controls are simple enough but each person has there own play style and there is no reason we shouldn't be able to map our mouse and keyboard to our own play style and re-bind the controls and keys.

SUGGESTIONS

Lastly: I will leave this with top 5 things I would like to personally see added to the game.

1. A way to speed up the dialogue when starting a new save game. If you've already beat the game on one difficulty and are playing on another for a challenge or achievement, having to sit through all the dialogue again is annoying. Plus I find the dialogue to be painfully slow. Trying to click through it or spacebar through it quickly doesn't work and you end up sitting there for a second or two waiting for the next bit of dialogue etc.

2. Make it easier to find mini-bosses as they seem to be very randomly spawned in Assault run. Also, it took me forever to figure out which Run Mode spawned Mini-Bosses and it's very hard to know which Run Variant (Necropolis, Savage Swamp etc) spawns which Mini-Boss to complete your codex. Codex should make it clearer where and how to find the Mini-Boss not just list the name of the Mini-Boss such as Grim.

3. There needs to be more to do at very end game. When you are max level, have all the perks have 90% of the codex done except for a few mini-boss items and have the best gear you desire/won't die on any Run... it just feels boring. There is nothing to do except repeat the same old Bounty that won't give you anything as you have pretty much unlimited resources by this point. I would suggest adding a truly endless mode for each Run Variant (Necropolis, Savage Swamp etc) which scales in difficulty over time/has waves that don't end and each wave is slightly harder than the last?

4. If endless mode isn't something you would consider, you could consider adding DLC or updates that add new Run Variants (Necropolis, Savage Swamp etc) and Modes to the game. Each new Run Variant and Mode could for example be harder than the last. Likewise, each new Run Variant and Mode could expand the Codex giving new weapons, mods, helmets, perks etc. The game has endless possibilities.

THOUGHTS

Overall, I have spent 8 and a half hours in this game. It is a fun little game. However, if there were less bugs that made the game feel like a chore and there was something to do at end game instead of the repetitive same five things... This game would be way better.

Lastly, to the DEVS, keep doing what you're doing. Polish the bugs that should have been polished before releasing from Early Access and keep working to release some new features to make us want to keep coming and playing over and over again.

Enemies stop spawn in Neutronia for me. Game-breaking bug I would say. Tried to abort and restart, verify files, etc, but with no success.
