Doom 64 Color Palette
I find the colors used in Doom 64 extremely pleasing to the eye. I've heard that Doom 64 swapped between different 256 color palettes for things like environments, monsters, guns to save space. Can anyone think of a way I could extract these palettes from the game files to take a closer look at them? Or does anyone know where I can find them directly?

At https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=51596&start=30 there's a weapon, texture and color palette swap for GZDoom to the Doom 64 equivalents. It makes the game look richer, darker and gothic in feel. Anyone know how I could crack open the wad to get the palettes from there? Thanks.

Oh that post was started by Nevander! He definitely knows his stuff. From what I remember, you can open the DOOM64.wad in Slade 3 and I think there are .pal files in it. Those files may mostly be for the enemies, but there might be weapons and environment ones too (if they aren't hard coded in). Not sure what format the .pal files may be in though...
