Any way to modify the music?

Really liking the game so far, however, one thing bothers me: the music. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad! But it's certainly different than that of Doom 1 and 2. I wondered if I could mod the music from those games in this one.

How hard is it? Is there any program for .wad editing? Would this be a very complicated project? If those were .ogg files I'd be done by now, but I've never edited a wad before. Is it feasible? Would it work? Would like to give it a shot once I'm done playing the game for the first time.

SLADE is a simple WAD editor that I have a little experience with (though I'm no expert by any means), and it's pretty easy to learn. I've checked inside the Doom 64 WAD and the music files are MIDI format. If you were to open the WAD with SLADE, right click one of the music files and select 'Import', you should be able to replace it with another MIDI file of your choosing.

I feel like the easier solution is just mute the game and put Doom 1 and 2 music in the background.

Yes since this game uses FMOD it supports a variety of music formats (not MIDIs though). My buddy was able to replace all of the music with mp3s, except the stats screen (it might not allow for changing). But it requires the tracks to be put in a WAD using a program like Slade.
