I wonder if he finally managed to get full unadulterated access to Midway's Doom 64 Source code to make this port. He spent so many years tinkering and reverse engineering it. I wonder who holds the licence now.

I hope that he does a 3.0 of EX, including all of the cut content that Midway would have wanted to implement, and then MKIV takes that version to create a Brutal DOOM 3.0 to act as a definitive version.

Mind, I wouldn't be surprised if he is restricted from doing unofficial DOOM 64 work.

Doom 64 support is "on hold" for (G)ZDoom, so he doesn't even NEED to work on Doom 64 EX anymore.

As far as I know GZDoom doesn't have plans on adding full Doom 64 compatibility, although it sure would be nice if it did. But there is a project to put in the planned Doom 64 content: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/100292-resurrecting-the-missing-doom64-monsters-wolf-ss-on-last-page/

These monsters will likely appear in this port: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/94139-update-v2-psxdoom-psxfinaldoom-doom64-on-gzdoom-gec-master-edition-dec-17-2018/

Well if they don't implement it, you can always use this mod for Doom 64 on GZDoom:

if you think brutal doom is a definitive anything you need your head checked.

It just needs a few more small QoL, nothing game-changing.

I noticed the anti-aliasing on the PS4 version doesn't work at all and by default it is off. I would like it on because I am playing on a 60 inch 4K display and those jaggy lines don't look good. The EX version looked better because the anti-aliasing worked. Hopefully they patch it on consoles so we can get those smooth lines.
