Is it possible to use this DOOM64.WAD with Doom64EX?
I don't like this port with no mouselook, no jumping, slow fading menus, no Linux version, less options, etc., but would like to play new levels. But when I try to use this WAD instead of the old one, I get no fonts, music or sound effects.

You can't use the DOOM64.WAD and DOOMSND.DLS files on their own with Doom64 EX. However, someone over in this thread posted a converter that will modify these files to allow them to be played with Doom64 EX.

Here's a link to the converter: henk.tech/doom64

Most likely the Wad in this version of Doom64 is a modified so source ports may not be able to handle it correctly.... Eventually someone will ports those new maps to Doom 64 retribution a much much much better version that Doom64 ex.

I believe it can, but remember that this DOOM64.WAD is modified. The red crosses on medikits, stimpacks, and the Berserk are removed. You can use SLADE to swap the graphics in if you're a purist, but that's about the only change, I think, along with the Lost Levels.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you, that works.
A note for Linux users: you can run the script from that link with 'wine cmd' and then you have to rename files to lowercase.

One more question: how to warp to the new levels? Using 'map' in the console does nothing, unlike GZDoom.
Also, "p_allowjump" resets to 0 every time, how to fix this?

Only caveat to this is that you can't play the new levels owing to the fact that EX is not programmed to recognize their unlock after beating Hectic and the converter itself works in a particular way (note the red cross health packs despite not changing them on from the white this version ships with).

You can't play them on EX, only on this version.

>resets to 0
I'm not very familiar with Linux, but is the an equivalent to 'Read Only' on Windows? If so, change your value to 1, then enable the Linux parallel to 'Read Only' so the program can't change it back.

I've tried this, and it seems the game just ignores the value from the config file and forces it to 0.

Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest since my knowledge of Linux is barebones.
