- now the level of the bounties is based on the bigger ship of your fleet and no more on your level
- the repairing cost was reduced
- The IA of your fleet works better if you want to board/capture ships.
Actually, I'm playing with a complete fleet of three-deckers (fully upgraded) and I'm always gaining money.
Sure, maintaining that fleet is expensive in terms of repairing, crewmen recruiting and rations, but I gain more than I spend to maintain the fleet.
A three-decker bounty is about 8/11k (depending on the number of enemy ships)
If you capture (for example) a three-decker plus a frigate and a sloop (topical formation for a bounty of a three-decker with 2 escorts) you gain another 10k (more or less)
You can gain around 1 or 2k selling looted goods in the right place
So we have an average of 20/22k for a bounty if all or most of the enemy ship were captured (and that is possible without problems with the 1.0.0.2 patch)
Taking in account some repairs etc* we still have a nice profit left.
* note that if we invest some money in upgrades boosting the durability of both the ship and the crew, at the same conditions we take less damage and less crew loss, so less repairing/recruiting cost in the long term.
