There is still a significant regression compared to the previous version: I no longer have access to the files that have been present for a long time in the game's directory "mods".
Thus, I can no longer even test with the latest version of SHOWWII the mod I had created (and published on ModDB), unless I upload it to Steam.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Soldiers Heroes of World War 2\

To this folder:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Soldiers Heroes of World War 2\

There seems to be an issue with savegames. I suspect this is for computers with the language set to something other than English. If your savegames are missing, here's what you can do:

1) Go to <game-location>\profiles\<player>\save where <player> is whatever the English word player translates to in your language.
2) Copy everything.
3) Go to %localappdata%\Soldiers Heroes of World War 2\profiles\player\save
4) Paste.

When you load a savegame it will warn you that it was created with an old version of the game, but in my testing it works regardless.

Ok, I assumed this would be done automatically and just failed because the script doesn't find the folder.

But then I have to say that it should be done automatically, as people returning to the game might not even know about the change.

And as a side note: it was already working with Windows 10.

I can't believe we've got a patch that brings this game into 2025, amazing and thank you!!! Although the issue with not being able to customise keys is a bit frustrating...

Another update is coming soon. The game remains a 32-bit program but has received significant engine improvements. There's more. Stay tuned for the next update!
