Losing Scanner

I had the scanner in my hand, accidentally clicked the button to take me to the menu/settings room, I dropped the scanner, I then picked it up, clicked the button to take me back to the game and the scanner disappeared. Should an item transport with you to the menu room?

I reloaded my game, item is still missing.

We have a backup mechanic where the robot grabs key objects if they were to get lost.. so check if the butler robot has it.
