I'd say Mortol has quite unique gameplay overall.
The other day my friend asked if there was a lemmings like game, and I pointed him to this so i agree with the other commenters.
I thought Mortol 2 was about the same amount of fun. They took the same concept and roughly the same gameplay but made it feel quite different.
Pretty similar mechanics, but without a body count limit and a bigger emphasis on puzzles
There was also a XBLA game with cute critters that used the same mechanic as well, but I don't remember the name
Specifically, it feels like Lemmings 2. That game specifically has the mechanic where the number of lemmings you save at the end of a level is your starting total for the next, and you can replay previous levels to get more lemmings through.
Also, as many have said Lemmings, the lives transferring over from level to level gave me hard Lemmings 3 vibes.
