UFO 50
bushido ball is difficult as hell! I'm convinced the bots I'm playing against in 1P are players.
Is this game just a known stinker, or are these actually just tryhards. Ayami ( I think is her name) may just be the worst character I could've chosen, as I had to go through the three gauntlets of hell, armor guy, Raizo, and Tomoe. I gave up hope on Tomoe. It's so strange that they would program the character you go against to pretty much be trying so hard, you can almost imagine somebody hunched over their monitor gigagaming. Camouflage for the win.

i am also tearing my hair out with bushido ball. the bots are way better than players they have perfect positioning and timing and never let anything through. after a couple volleys the ball gets way too fast to react to. as far as i can tell you need to use your charge attack and special to confuse the ai but you cant do that every round. really lost as to how to beat this one

yes, fun mechanics broken by goofy ahh bots that have no weaknesses , especially on 5th stage. trashed the idea of getting cherry on that game because of that
CPU cheats SO HARD in that game, I refuse to participate
Windjammers it aint

Just use the lob shot (back+attack). You can't build speed when returning a lob shot, it slows the game down and makes it more strategic. Here's a video of me beating the game with every character back to back without losing, in one sitting.

Am I the only human being that didn't find bushido ball hard like that? I'm not even baiting, like I genuinely think it's like top 5 games in the collection.

Cheat the game by turning off penalties in the options, pick the slow spear guy, and spam your spear against the cpu until you get the ball across. To make it even quicker turn on 2 player mode so you play doubles and only have to survive 2 rounds. It's a cool game but the cpu does not work for single player without cheese imo, making it just like 99% of fighting games

It's really fast and takes a lot of time to adjust to. Most people playing UFO 50, including me, don't have a lot of experience with difficult retro action games. But the more I play it, the more I appreciate it because I can react faster. It has a lot of depth and I keep coming back to it for fun. One of the many impressive games in the collection.

Yes, bushido is the easiest cherry in the collection. I have no idea wth is this thread xD
And yes, the game is the best, but bots are just too easy. Game's great in versus.

It depends entirely on the matchup. Bushido Ball isn't worth playing alone.
Bushido Ball bots will toss you on your ass if you try to use strategies that would work against actual humans. Don't use charge attacks and don't try to fake out, because they will turn it on you 100% of the time. If you just play as slowly and predictably as possible you'll make it easier for yourself and they'll eventually make a stupid mistake that gives you an easy win.

Charge attacks score on the CPU reliably if you aim and time them like normal shots rather than trying to blast them through. Only Yamada's and Raizo's are bad because they rely on the ball changing direction in predictable ways. But that's to balance them out, because they have the best offensive special moves.

Seconding turning cheat penalties off in options and using slow spear guy. Whenever the opponent is being served the ball, rush forward and smack them in the face, knocking the ball and scoring in the process. That was the strategy I landed on after trying and failing a bunch with default settings, and feeling like I’d improved as much as I was going to at the game.

This one is in the category of “I got the cherry but it wasn’t particularly fun or satisfying” for me.
