Reverse Grimstone changes
A lot of people are already saying it in the patch notes discussion but posting it here too for a higher chance of it getting noticed.

Removing the ability to use heal to revive from the map only serves to make the early-game more tedious, having to either party wipe or backtrack to revive if you don't have Holy Water, and you can't buy Holy Water until a few hours into the game. Even though it was a bug, it's been like 4 months since the game released it's too late to change such a consequential thing imo.

The status effect change is understandable though it was kinda weird how those never worked.

sounds lame, these changes

They took so long to fix this, I thought they intended for Umbra to be that broken. Glad I got to do a playthrough with it, cause it was kinda fun. This also invalidates the current speedrun records.

The status effects working now give me an excuse to play the game again.

Edit: okay turns out I just needed to get heal from talking to a random rabbit. How did I not think of that? It's so obvious that this critical ability would be locked behind talking to a wild rabbit.
There are no speedruns under the patch that just released, so anything you were watching would have been using the character with heal. You get that spell from the rabbit less than a minute after leaving the town.
How could you be complaining about the game being such a slog when you didn't even explore the first area of the map? Like, did you get to Santonio? Have you played a JRPG before?
Nothing about your post makes sense.
Personally I'm finding the Blindness status effect a bit of a pain in my new playthrough.
I played Bull Lee Doc and Anna. I didn't know Heal could revive from the field and did just fine? Granted Doc getting multi-use out of items was clutch but the game was still pretty easy to me by the time I got out of the starting gear. Also grinded the mines boss a bit before crossing the bridge and was pretty much good to go. Was thinking of doing a second run with the other team but maybe Bull again instead of the dog 'cause I don't love berserker type party members.
