So far Barbuta feels like it could be a part of Action 52
It's just horrible.

The price is a bit steep but I love the idea of this retro pack.
I'm still waiting for user reviews because yup. The name made me instantly think of Action 52 and im worried a lot of it is just bloatware.

I guess the games should become better and better, but the very first one is just like straight out of Action 52 so I'm thinking to refund it.

Why don't you try out a few games. They'll probably get better.

The game list starts off ordered in (faux) chronological order, which means the first one shown is the one that "feels" oldest. Try something closer to the bottom-right, you may find it feels a bit more to your taste? (Hard to advise, I've barely scratched the surface!)

As far as I know, somewhere on YT I heard that this is how the plot is supposed to be, the initial games are especially worse because the plot of UFO Soft has only just started to create them there, with each subsequent game it has more and more experience and the team :)

I really like Barbuta. It feels just like the game from 80s and the one that a fictional company UFO50 will develop at first. I'm planning to map out all of the rooms on a piece of paper. It's really fun

Feels so obscure to the point of being unfun. I just keep finding stuff I can't interact with and insane traps. Unsure where the fun is intended to be.

I like that in Barbuta you don't know what to do, you can feel that you have to think and figure out where to go, etc., the game doesn't tell you anything and in my opinion it's great, it's hard :)

Derek would have been better spending 8 years developing Spelunky 3 than this. I asked for a refund.

Did you even try out all the games or just the first one? I'm really addicted to the soccer bubble bobble type game.

Tried random 12 or 15 games. None of them didn't vibe with me.

A piece of advice that I have just seen, you can smash cracked tiles and after smashing them you can get money :)

It's ok. This package definitely won't be for everyone. Most of these games follow programming rules and tropes found 40 years ago. These are not modern "retro inspired" games as they do not hold your hand. I can also see a few incoming reviews will be complaining about "difficulty" considering the hand holding gaming age we live in.
