Pilot Quest idle timer not working?
In Pilot Quest I used to get a large amount of resources each time I came back to it after a few hours. But for the last few days it's just a handful. Most recently, I left it for more than a day and got 42 moon drops.

Is that intentional? Anyone know how the timer is meant to work?

It works as long as UFO 50 is running.

It only works when UFO 50 is running. Close the game and it stops the timer.

Thanks! I was sure in the past I'd completely shut down the Steam Deck to save the battery, and it still worked. Maybe I had it in sleep mode or something.

Sleep mode doesnt turn off the game. The farmables are on a timer so it sees the diff and adjusts im pretty sure

This also annoyed me having to have the game run over night to farm... but you know what?
I'll set this in spoiler, since it absolutely breaks the game. So only read if you gotten enough out of playing it as intended.

You can actually cheese it. If you close the game via ALT+F4 and start it up again all your resources are maxed out, well all that you are producing, that is. Found this by accident, but works every time.

Absolutely does not work for me. I'd gladly cheat the game to max out the resources, since it has basically been cheating me out of them for a week. I actually installed it on my desktop to test this.

By the way, I left the game active with the Steam Deck in sleep mode overnight and this time I made 90 moon drops. Might be the end of my time with Pilot Quest, I think.

What are you talking about? If the "tricks" don't work for you, just get the resources normally: by playing the 49 other games in the collection, then coming back to Pilot Quest every now and then to spend the resources.

Really? I tried it several times today and got it every time. Then I don't know why...

Does that work? I assumed Pilot quest needs to stay active to gather resources?

So only Ufo50 needs to stay active?

Yes, it's how Pilot Quest was meant to be played. As long as UFO 50 is active, resources are being produced.

Actually now it also doesn't work for me anymore. Must be some other reason why this worked, maybe using VPN or something? But now I'm pretty sure there is a way to cheese the game.

As far as I was aware the point of Pilot Quest was that the 'console' had an internal clock and if you turned the game off for a while you'd earn a corresponding amount of resources when you came back.

That's how it seemed to work before, anyway. I'd leave it a while, not necessarily playing the other games, and the next time I loaded it up I'd have thousands of moon drops, the meat supply would be regenerated, etc. But now it's just not doing that for me, which kind of renders the game unplayable.
