How long is Pilot Quest? And does it get better?
Not really a fan of this one so far. I don't like idle games in general, and the combat is so clunky and awkward. Even the most basic enemies have WAY too much health and aren't worth fighting. Currently saving up for a yoyo upgrade hoping it makes combat at least somewhat more tolerable.

I just found my first dungeon, so I am wondering how many dungeons there are, as well as if the game gets any better.

The blaster does the same amount of damage as your base yo-yo. If you do the double hit then it’s basically doing as much damage as the metal yo-yo. If you never pick up the blaster you can do the “Nothing here.” trick to clear the area of bombs and ground sparks. Wizard yo-yo + that trick and getting him against a wall is the most efficient way to defeat him.

the Nothing Here glitch got patched out a while ago.
Blaster stunlocking is really reliable.

Must've been very recently. Darn.
I still think doing more damage to him with the yo-yo is more effective in my experience.

I think if you don't like it from beginning on, or at least when the concept is understood, you won't like it, since the game stays pretty much the same all throughout.

I didn't really like the idle gaming aspect but overall liked the game.

I love Pilot Quest. It has some of the most best pixel art in the collection, with beautiful colours and gorgeous huge sprites. The music is amazing.

The gameplay is deceptively challenging, but undemanding and it's just too bad it isn't longer. (You barely have to idle at all by the way, you usually make better progress by playing.) The cherry is honestly one of the most interesting in the collection to discover and solve.

Pilot Quest is fun, but it goes from fun to a short grind in which you start doing loop after loop getting coins and buying/idling resources until you can fuel the ship and leave. Even if you idle all the resources by playing other games the last 70% of the game is just a time sink.

The fact the exterior map is randomized made my second play through more interesting because the forest went from "Explore here" to "You do not have to enter this area because nothing of value exists here" was the best part of Pilot Quest IMO.

My main issue is that most aspects of the game are primitive even when contrasted to a classic 8-bit adventure title such as "The Legend of Zelda": combat, items, exploration, upgrades, dungeons' design, and bosses.

Being 1 game out of 50 makes it okay in my book, but it is certainly not a title I would ever revisit given its lack of design ambition.

Yeah really all it has going for it is the novelty of the idle game aspect, which it isn’t even really much of an idler. It’s not horrendous but it does feel like shovelware.
