I wouldn't mind a hint on the cockroach, though, I missed that (I'm near the full end game).
As for your question: if you jump on a butterfly or a flying microbe, if you have the right book, you can command it to fly up by going up. Go up repeatedly and you can fly to the doorknob (start from a high point).
You can also go from the shelf, there is a trampoline thing that allows you to reach a high platform. If you glide from there using a flying thing (butterfly or microbe), you can glide to the doorknob.
EDIT: thanks again, beat the cockroach and got the armour, I only miss the last item and I know how to beat mission 2. It would have never occurred to me to use the damaged power outlets as doors.
Do you mind me asking where you can find the item that let's you command the bugs?
also as for the water bear it's found 7 tiles from the left side in the area west of the algae town on the left flower pot!
Your first question: the bottle is sold by the dust bunnies to the left of the shelf.
Your second question: do you mean the tank enemy? That's in the WAR book on the middle shelf.
For the water bear, you can defeat it by jumping on it then attacking its tongue which got out. It's easier if you found several powerups (health, attack). You can use blue chitin to attack more effectively. You can also use the item found at the end of the tanks, I think.
After you defeat it, a micro-city will be relieved.
