Support for 8BitDo controller(s) / Using Retro Controllers

Hi! I've noticed that the LX-1's controller is most like a TurboGrafx-16 or PC Engine controller so I thought about playing it with my 8BitDo Wireless PC Engine Core controller. However, I've had some issues getting it to be recognized. It seems the game prefers Xbox controllers first which is understandable. I haven't tried all options yet but to avoid this being a useless discussion, has anyone else tried using a two button pad with the game? I want to properly emulate the LX-1!

I was just about to try that out. Hopefully my immersion will be turned up to 11 with two buttons.
