I'll give 4 examples:
Mooncat: Gold is Finding an egg (beating the game with any route). Cherry is Finding All Three Eggs, which will require the gift goal of finding and using a warp.
Big Bell Race: In theory, Gold is possible without getting the gift, but good luck getting overall first place without ever finishing a race in first. In any case, while having first overall is what's needed for Gold, having 72 points (1st Place Finishes in all 8 races) is what is required for Cherry.
Night Manor: Gold is simply beating the game, and I'm not sure if it cares about what ending you get. Cherry is beating the game with the secret ending.
Quibble Race: This is a fun one where the separate records for Gold and Cherry actually make sense. For Gold, you have to win a single-player game with a minimum of 6 races. Cherry, though, requires EXACTLY 6 races, and you have to also have $10,000 after the final race.
Now the steam guides section does have a listing of what all the Gift, Gold, and Cherry goals are (though it lacks some of the specific nuances on some games).
