There's so much tech in this game, it's ridiculous. Gilroy in particular is full of advanced tech but damn they really took a game where nobody can have the same "push A to go up" and made them all competitive with one another.

I don't doubt it, the game is really cool and high effort even though I don't have much fun with it.

Yogo is the one I could not wrap my head around to play with any competency.

Brazz was pretty decent to play as despite the AI having no idea how to wrap its brain around the up/down inversion. It'd invert gravity and just live where it ended up for a while.

Yogo's big advantage is that his grapple doesn't just have mobility use, it can also grab rings and attack! The first forward swing with a grapple counts as a melee attack complete with dodging projectiles, and the grabber's hitbox for collecting rings is extremely generous and (in my experience) doesn't risk damage from a ring that's too fresh out of the oven. Add that to boomerangs that can often force trades even if dodged and you have a character who can command a lot of the stage even without especially strong vertical mobility.

The game isn't balanced well and there's too much rng with collective the rngs to have reliable strats.

It was one of my fav games (+ obviously an easy cherry). Yea, game is ultra fun but ye, it ain't balanced for any serious competition. Mobility abilities are just from too different tiers.
