No, it doesn't work like a 'stack', if you merge a bunch of copies into a Lv20 GLOP and use it, you'll be left with nothing, not a Lv19 one.
So yes, keep them separate.
when a glop is used, the whole "stack" (levels) is consumed - higher level doesn't make it work better or anything
1 glop lasts for 5 of his attacks and it's consumed on his attack, so if you can kill him before his first attack, you don't need glop
if you can't kill him by his 6th attack, you'll need another glop in inventory, and so on
Since you don't yet know how fast you're going to be able to kill or how many attempts you might need to learn the fight, maybe stock up like 10 or so. Do the fight, get a feel for how much you'll need per fight and go from there.
Wiki suggests 15.5 (and 3 toughness), so 10 might not be enough, but maybe you're good enough at manual to do it at lower stats. Do the fight and find out.
You can always make a save before the attempt and load back if you don't want to lose the glop on failed fights while you practice.
I also noted somewhere it said to start buying adventure stats power with XP. I tried it out after a autosave, I basically doubled my base adventure power, which increased my overall power by about 5 %, so I closed the window before it resaved, because it seemed not worth it. Is there any use in buying adventure power?
