How much content does ngu idle have?
I heard there are 300 bosses and after you beat them you play on a different difficulty but i wonder does this game have much more content after that? Can you play for 10000 hours and still have a lot of things to do ? No spoilers please im a newbie

I just checked my playtime and Steam says I've played more than 10000 hours. I haven't reached the end yet. So yeah.

(Note that I keep the game running 24/7)

Nearing 13k hours, still going! I might be through 80% of the current content. There's still several adventure zones to go, and many challenges.

the game is not about those "bosses" exactly and "higher difficulty" is not about "replay the same" like you could imagine. It's not "reset" or anything. It's a pure continuation. As beside new zones, features, bosses and other things on new difficulty the old ones get another tier of progress, additional to what you still carry and use since normal difficulty.

But yeah, 10k hours is about the lifespan of this game. Give or take. You may be slower, you probably can be a bit faster.

"A lot" is relative ofc. The pace will slow down obviously. Hope you don't imagine there is new content for every day after a year of playing :) The game is not that old. And it would be quite wrist taxing to weave features in real time as you consume them. But you will still see things ahead. Yes.

Not gonna lie. I'm using CE to make up for the past few years of very slow progress on Kongregate, and there's STILL tons to do in this game. I haven't gotten the third resource bar yet, so there's still a ways to go for me.

All depends in how active you're with the game and how efficiently you play it, either by experience adquired with a playthrough (started to play it on Kongregate back in 2018 and started a new game here 1 month ago) or following the discord guides.

For me, in 1 month played, i've reached up to 2/3 (maxed BV, i can AK T5 and doing Cblock1 atm) of what the normal difficulty is being fully active and knowing everything up to 1/3 of the next difficulty. Things start to slow down like a damn ton by this point. Reaching evil difficulty can be easily 2-3 months for a fully active player. Going through evil up to the last difficulty... I wouldnt be surprised if it takes half of a year or more. Going through the last one? I dont even want to imagine XD

PD, if you dont know what BV, AK, T5 or Cblock means (Adventure zone, AutoKill Titan number X, series of challenges that can be made as a block) i recommend you to check the discord, there's a whole community there separated in different chats for different zones, you'll get any and all help you may need there.

But what does PD mean??

content-wise, it's a bit of stuff you repeat over and over again, since at its core, there is the idea of reiterating and getting stronger and stronger with each iteration. at the same time, there would be new things you do and achieve, to get stronger and stronger as well, and that also makes you want to push forward to get there.

Every 24 hours, I do a new rebirth, which you might think of as the repetitive part, but strangely, i like it. before getting to the 24-hour rebirth content, i was rebirthing maybe every 1-10 hours (based on time away for sleep, work, etc), which is where some parts of the game feel a little bit more active. But even after getting to the 24-hour rebirth content, where my actual attention needed may be required less, I've still been playing daily for about 1.5 years now.

Granted, the enthusiasm has slowed down a lot because I'm not making as fast progress, but I've come to terms with that idea that I'm not sprinting to the finish line , but rather just taking my time. I'll get there when I get there.

This is definitely one of the few idle-type games that I've kept going on. And as a whole, in comparison to other games, this is one of the few games that I've been able to keep going on for more than a few months at a time. That's not to say there aren't other games that I return to and play again for a few weeks or months, but it's rare that like this game, I've stayed with it pretty constantly for all this time, around 1.5 years now, pretty much almost daily, due to the nature of wanting to be efficient in rebirths (but of course you could play it differently and just return to it every couple of days)

So content-wise, there is enough to keep you going for a long time. Whether or not you like that content , or keep up with it over time after various phases of the game change how you need to play it, you'll have to give it a try and see what you think!

Its not so much about ongoing new content. NGU Idle is like owning a houseplant or a pet. Feed water and entertain it for a few minutes or a few hours a day until hell freezes over. Abandon it for a week or two then come back too, it likes abuse.
Hypertext Eye Jun 18, 2021 @ 9:40pm
You entertain your houseplants?
bbfloyd Jun 19, 2021 @ 6:34am
Don't you? You must have really dull houseplants ... :steammocking:

It is long but whether that is a lot of content is kind of up to you. Even if you play pretty optimally you will be unlocking new content for at least 6 months or so through late evil. Sadistic mode does have much in the way of features at the moment though.

Nearing 14k and I feel like I'm still new. What's left to do for me:
- Hardcap resource 3
- Get the 16th THE END which is added today
- Kill the final titan which is added today(done for the first new one though)
- Hit level 100 for all final adventure zone gears
- Buy some Perks
- Buy some Quirks
- Hit 1600th floor of ITOPOD(still one-shotting 1523)

alot and not alot at the same time is the best way to describe it.

you set the game up for 5-10 minutes, then wait a day and do it again.

I've got about 12k hours of play time logged according to steam. I had some time with it on kongregate as well before it came out on steam and I moved my save to here. (Don't know how much time there.) I had left the game untouched for several months at some point when I was somewhere early in the game still, and I stopped again for a while (from the release of NGU Industries up until the newest NGU Idle update that just came out a couple days ago) so the in-game timer is inflated quite a bit compared to however much time I've actually had the game open. According to the stats shown in-game (which includes offline time), I've played for about 1095 days (that's 26k hours).

I can be horribly lazy and inefficient in how I play (even before this latest hiatus away from NGU Idle I had already gotten lazy about rebirthing and hadn't actually been doing that for the last several months even though rebirthing once a day would have been better for me), but where I'm currently at in my progress in the game is that in this past day or two I've just started collecting gear from Construction Zone (zone after titan 11)... Although I can't actually just leave it alone to farm there indefinitely. I eventually get knocked out. In ITOPOD I've now pushed as high as 1447 and I'm (still in this same excessively long rebirth since I was seeing what all I can milk out of the gains I've made from offline earnings before I'll do that) running 1409 as my optimal floor right now.

Wait... Oh yeah, the different modes for each of these later titans. Apparently I've only been killing titan 11's v2 form... But I am strong enough at the moment to autokill v3. Guess I'm going to let that farm a bit as well.

I've collected... 3 of the "THE END" items? (the ones from ascending the final incarnations of the forest pendant and looty series of items, plus I think the other one (acquired several months ago) was...? Oh! It was the one from the cards.
