Save and then give it money.
While you can't save scume to get a specific outcome if the pit target your equiped gear or daycare slots it's often a good idea to reload and make sure the gear you want to level up is targeted.

My tip is just to do it as often as you can. The benefits add up over time.

Based on the way I play, i usually can get the 1 hour, 2 hour, and maybe 3 hour feeding time . After that, when it becomes 4 or 5 hours until the next feeding time, I have usually been away long enough that it's really getting close to the 24-hour mark when I am going to rebirth, so I don't do the 5- or 6-hour feeding anymore, I just wait for 24 hours. In other words, I probably get about 3, maybe 4, feedings in a 24-hour period, even though I wish I could do it more often.

If you keep dumping low amounts of money you will get crap and the dump cooldown will double. At first hold off on dumping money in it until you can put in 10 trillion. That will upgrade the MP reward pool to add the most important reward: leveling up all your worn equipment or your daycare items.

Before you click ensure you are wearing items you are having trouble leveling up.

If you get a daycare triggered and you didn't have anything of worth in your daycare slots. Then simply load a recent save. Place your priority unmaxxed items in the daycare. Then trigger the Money Pit again.
