Of course you can still get some early perks before reaching that point but the speed of progression tends to leave very little time for itopod because you are constantly farming a zone for items or boosts with little to no time to do something else in adventure mode.
Time until Megalands is pretty much tutorial. It's not "a game" yet as you don't really have choices. You function pretty much just as an automated clicker and the game is very active and needy. It's after that where it becomes idle, choices start matter and you will need to develop your personal strategy.

32 pp spent and I don't feel that I've wasted any time in itopod.
Rather enjoying the game and I play 'many' idlers. Rushing to end game is not fun in any of them..
