hack days and quests
am I supposed to save 50 quests for hack day because there are bonuses added to quests on hack days or do I do 50 quests later. I see I am supposed to do them at some point and save all the quirks points for the 15000 evil ngu quirk.

is the basic Idea to always do 50 quests manually and then having to do minor quests as quickly as possible while building up your quests bank.

I guess that is why I have to spend a large number of perks points on a seemingly small amount of quirk benefits

Not quite sure what quests have to do with "hack days" where you put everything towards resource 3 and hack bonuses (including consumables).
Is there a synergy between the two that I don't know about?

It's to benefit from the increased QP bonus from QP hack. You don't start the quests until after the QP hack has finished.

Some people will do the QP hack right after hack hack so they can start working on those manual majors during hack day, but you can do them after the hack day finishes. There's nothing special about hack day itself for doing quests.

Well, it says in the quide on page 42 -

" If you haven’t bought Extended Quest Bank (125k AP), it’s highly recommended to buy it for upcoming Hackdays"

This would seem to indicate to have a full bank FOR USE on hack days. Or maybe not, i am a bit confused.

sounds like it implies to buy extended bank for use AFTER hackdays.

I am trying to setup for increasing my quirks point production in prep (for or after) hack day in about a month and am trying to convince myself of some perks to buy for during/after the hack day. it looks like perk 89 and 90 are high priority, yet I am underwhelmed.

I personally do not buy quest bank nor do I stock up on majors for hack days. I do the 3-4 I get daily. You don't need to follow the guide unless you want to.

Well I dont necessarily follow it. If I did I would presumebly NOW spend 20000 perk points improving my quest rewards by 10 % and another 6000 perk points on increasing my drop chance for quest items by 15%.

Up until now I was just continuously idling majors and getting 57 quirk points 3 or 4 times a day because I hate doing quests and not using the itopod.. But I am trying to figure out a better method so I was hoping someone else who has tried different plans could inform me.

Gotcha.

Well, I can tell you that quest DC affects idle time, so that extra 15% wouldn't be a complete waste.

I don't remember if you're using the mods or not. If you are, you can auto manual the majors and it will auto change to itopod when done.

Also don't forget this is an incremental game. You get a lot of tiny boosts that individually don't give very much but over time they add up. That 10% isn't going to be a big help now, but you should still get it eventually.

I can tell you that by the end of the game, your QP modifier could be (with butter) over 30,000% and manual major quests could give over 55,000 QP each.

ok i didnt realize DC affects idle time maybe i will get it. Thanks
I suspect I'm at the same stage as you are now and the idea behind saving 50 quests specifically for HD1 is that majors should reward ~300 QP after HD1, so having a full bank of 50 will get you exactly 15000 QP to buy The Beast NGU Quirk Ever. jshepler is right though - ultimately this is a minor efficiency move (as are most recommendations in the guide) and it's up to you whether you want to do it.

Something to keep in mind is that while it might be beneficial, you don't want to miss out on major quests because you wanted to have them at 50 for a hack day.
The benefits would get negated if you "lost" a few major quests due to the stock being full at the time.

Also important to note is that getting more QP but later also means getting the bonuses from the QP later.
Depending on the quirks, getting them a few days earlier could have a bigger impact on your overall progression than getting more QP during/after a hack day.

Of course, if you are min-maxing to the extent of piling up major quests like this, you would also have taken all of this into account, but if you are "just" following a guide then it might be a good idea to give it some extra considerations.
