I don't know about save editors but there are ways to edit the values while the game is running like with nearly every games on PC (I'm not going to tell you how to do this because it would get me banned from the steam forums).
You might want to turn off "submit highscores" from the settings if you do that (the tooltip of that setting will let you know that the dev is completely fine with you cheating too, even if he would probably prefer that you spend a few bucks to get AP).
By the way, depending on when you had the AP and when the files were saved, there are usually 3 auto save files. The main one is the most recent, and 2 backup files are from a few minutes ago, even as much as 10-20 minutes ago from what I've seen. It has saved me a few times when I forgot to make a save file just seconds ago before doing something that turned out , I didn't like doing that and wanted to revert.
Ah. Silly me. I never actually used it until I had two of them, so I forgot that you don't get the first one for free.
