Sadly your old gear from normal difficulty is based on the boss you defeated in the current rebirth, meaning that your gear's stats are all lowered initially.

Go to itopod and get yourself a few of the cheap ones (like "welcome to evil"), the early zones in evil difficulty are not something you can touch right away usually.

Yeah, this is perhaps the most evil thing about Evil: if you enter Evil difficulty as soon as you are able to, your progress will slow massively in almost every category.

The best thing to do may be to go back to Normal for a while, make sure you have done every Challenge and grinded every available piece of equipment, and spend a few more days after that building your stats before giving Evil another try.

You should be earning quite a few more PP from the increase in difficulty so it's not like it's all bad.

Similarly you should be able to push a few levels in evil NGUs before going back to the normal ones, increasing the total bonuses thanks to that.

k I have worked up some AT and now i can defeat some enemies in evilverse but my energy and magic seem like poopoo but also I did do some prep before hand so I have a bunch of stuff ready like 7 beard slots and stuff like that ALSO I was grinding in evil ITOPOD and the perk gain doesnt seem that much higher
Fel Mar 26, 2023 @ 9:58am
It might not seem much higher at the very start because of the gear's stats being cut drastically but it will get significantly better if you either get some gear from evilverse or defeat more bosses.

I currently have a 1.7% chance for an evilverse gear from a boss so Imma just grind that until I get at least 1 piece of anything

That is about the only thing that *might* be better, and even PP income probably won't improve at first, since when you first reach Evil you likely can't afford to run your PP Digger much, if at all, so won't have that bonus that you do in Normal.

It is very bad.

Don't worry about it. Just keep improving your character through the other menus and eventually it won't be an issue anymore.

Also, as others on this thread have mentioned, it is not necessarily a good idea to start Evil immediately as soon as you are able to. While determining exactly what you would want to have beforehand is difficult, and depends on a variety of factors, the wiki[ngu-idle.fandom.com] has a pretty good list of "recommended" prerequisites.

  • All drops from normal zones and titans maxed. Can skip bar bars from Chocolate World and Beast v4 drops (though these may be completed), since you can easily continue maxing them in Evil.
  • Be able to manual Evilverse: power / toughness ≥ 10T / 6T (1e13 / 6e12).
This is only for the gold drop: Evilverse gold drop is approximately 100 times that from the Beast. This will help with digger activation. Although, the gold drop from the Beast is likely sufficient.
  • Base EM power * cap ≥ 40T (4e13).
    For example, using a 1.6: 40k: 1 ratio, a pow/cap/bars of 40k / 1B / 25k is sufficient. This amount of EM would cost a total of 48M exp.
  • Gold Diggers: total digger levels bonus ≥ 130%, or equivalently (assuming No TM Challenge 1 completed), total digger levels ≥ 500.
  • NGUs: be able to speed-cap the first 6 normal energy NGUs and the first 3 normal magic NGUs.
  • Perks: All of first 3 rows (except Rich Perks 1, 5 o'clock shadow, and Bonus Boss EXP), as well as First Harvest, Fibonacci 1, Adv Training banks 1-3 and Temp Beard banks 1-3 completed.
Note: PP gain is higher in Evil, so it is not necessary to remain in Normal solely to get perks. However, both early fruit activations are very useful and should be obtained before Evil.
  • Quirks: All of Baby's First quirks, gold quirk and The Beast's Seed completed.
  • 5 beard slots
I followed this list when I started Evil difficulty, and it worked fine. Looking back, I don't think that all of these are really necessary, but it's probably better to be overpowered than underpowered. If you need to, you can actually Rebirth back to Normal difficulty and continue to level up things there until you're more prepared for Evil.

im at about the same point in progression and evilverse equipment (besides accessories, get a copy of both) sucks, i think it would be better to skip to the next zone at boss 100 and manual that, evilverse set has lower stats than choco for a while

I remember have read a lot of time that the new EM stats were : 1/37500/1,8
I use those stats for a while now, do I have to change to be more efficient ?

Does the 1,6/40k/1 are better, as you are saying ?

I don't know for sure, but I would assume your ratio is similar enough to the point where changing it wouldn't really have a noticeable effect. The most important part seems to be making sure that your base Power * Cap is at least 40 trillion.

you should also experience a boom in ngus, add a few drop accessories to your ngu loadout ( https://gmiclotte.github.io/gear-optimizer will tell you what to change), grab an e/m pot beta, put your ngu diggers into overdrive, and spend a rebirth going crazy on ngus
pushing bosses might be the most evil part of evil and those levels will go a long way
space in parentheses because steam didnt like it otherwise

Ok, I will do that.
Thanks

another thing is that evilverse (edit: except maybe accessories) isnt exactly worth it, your ngus and a couple million levels in advanced training will get you to the next zone faster than edgy set will

The set bonus (XP & a MacGuffin slot) should still be considered, but there's also the option of coming back for it later when they have higher stats and can spend less time killing each enemy, if they were to determine that it isn't super important right now.
