The king looty grind

anyone considering doing it, do it. doubled my power tripled my toughness, well worth the stat upgrade and its doable probably far eirlier then I did the grind.

Kind of depends when you do it, if you go back to the sky zone when you can 1-hit everything there and have enough drop chance bonus it can definitely be worth it to spend a bit of time getting king looty and ascended ascended ascended pendant (and the reason why the forest pendant would go a full tier higher is because it drops much more often and at a higher level).
Those two accessories also give you a significant boost to drop chance which will absolutely be helpful as you continue forward but if you try this grind too early you will instead waste a pretty large amount of time that would have given you a lot more progress simply by going to stronger zones normally.

If you already reached badly drawn world, it is not a big deal to reach those tiers anymore since that zone (and the one right after it) drops ascended ascended forest pendant and sir looty, making it trivial to get your hands on those if you didn't have them yet.
