Well, for starters bosses are only a mean to unlock new adventure zones as well as a source of exp (that is only worth it in the begining).
The main source of progress is through equipment from adventure zones.

Since you are stating a boss as your progress marker it means that you are very early in the game.
Your main goal early on is to progress through adventure zones while defeating bosses often in order to get exp to increase your energy stats (especially "speed" at the start) and later magic stats as well.
You also want to do the basic training as much as possible in each rebirth to lower how much energy they require (there is a cap per rebirth on how much they can go down too).
Avoid adventure stats from exp as they are not worth it until you are close to the very end of the game (in the third difficulty).

The 30 or 60 minutes rebirths aim to get a lot of exp while giving you enough time to do adventure mode and train basic trainings.
The rebirth "NUMBER" get a big boost based on time elapsed at specific marks (3, 5, 10, 30 and 60 minutes, maybe a couple more that I forgot in between) which is why you get 30 or 60 minutes.

Once you start defeating titans (special adventure zones where the enemy only spawn every 60 minutes) you usually want to ditch the 30 minutes in favour of 60 minutes.
Later on you will start to grow fruits that need full hours to grow so the rebirths start to get longer as you upgrade the max growth rank of those fruits.

Eventually you will transition towards daily rebirths and keep that until the end of the game (outside of specific needs that require either very quick or very long rebirths).

You already got your answer but for others who come in to read this, yes, at the beginning, you can focus by doing 30-60 min rebirths. 30 mins is sufficient because 60 doesn't add much more to you at this particular time, until you start defeating some Titans that need 1 hr to spawn.

I played this game 2x for the beginning aspect. I wanted to see if what I learned, could help me progress through faster. It's a definite gain for EXP, which helps you to buy more things that EXP gets you, so it's a better progress if you do 30-min rebirths at these early stages.

however, you'll be making progress either way so you'll always feel like you're getting better even if it's not efficiently better than someone else. For me, it came down to active play and idle play. For example, there were 2-3 hours every day, where I might be able to play this game. So for those 2-3 hours, I would do 30-min rebirths. This part follows the idea that the 30-min rebirths give some gain in Number and some EXP as you defeat bosses again.

After that 3-hour session, I just let it go for the next few hours until I could play it again and some rebirths. So this part follows the idea that you'll progress up even if you aren't doing everything in a certain way that gives you the best gains for the stage you're at.

You are far too early in the game to be doing long rebirths.

However, you have got far enough into the game that you should have unlocked a Titan. It takes the Titan 1 hour to spawn, so your minimum rebirth time for a standard rebirth should be at least 1 hour (but otherwise as short as possible, for now).

Shorter rebirths are still a good source of EXP though, since bosses are a primary source of EXP for you and you kill most bosses in the first few minutes of a rebirth. Before doing a Challenge, you can do minimum-length 3-minute rebirths. This will burn down your Number, but that doesn't matter as the Challenge will reset it completely. If doing a series of Challenges, you can do a few of these short rebirths after each Challenge.

Because of this, and the fact that most Challenges involve doing short rebirths themselves, doing Challenges is an excellent source of EXP at this stage even before you take into account their rewards.
