Advanced Training Levels Perk Breaks 100 Level Challenge?

I have the Instant Advanced Training Levels Perk maxxed out to 100 Levels. When I rebirthed to start an (Evil) 100 Level Challenge, it shows that all 100 levels are already used immediately after the rebirth, and I can't gain any more from Wandoos or Augs. Am I doing something wrong, or is this part of the challenge?

It's been a long while since I did that, but I seem to remember the Instant Advanced Training Levels don't count against the challenge. Could it be that you left something else on? Beards do count, and they're easy to forget to turn off (and to turn back on afterwards).

I did the same thing, came to the same erroneous conclusion, and went through two painful rebirths before I figured out that beards were to blame. This wasn't a problem on Normal as I didn't have beards when I did the challenge there.

I'm one of those who went several days without turning beards back on, when doing this challenge. I just figured it was slow going , since I was in Evil mode! Argh. But anyway, fortunately I noticed it before too many days passed.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback: I finished the challenge with no more hitches, except that I actually did forget to re-enable the beards after rebirthing, even after two of you gave warning. Fortunately, it was only for a few minutes.

As long as I'm here, I'll mention that I just completed the first Evil Blind challenge, and I was a bit shocked too see that the degree of blindness picks up where the last normal challenge left off. I find this very disturbing! At this rate, there's not going to be any text at all in the final Blind challenge. 4G sucks sometimes...

Don't worry about it. It's easy enough to get overpowered to the point that you can do the last one in only 2 or 3 rebirths.

I don't remember that when I did those challenges in in evil or sadistic. Did you complete all 10 in normal?

Yes, I did all of the Normal Blind challenges. And the first Evil one had a nearly blank Rebirth tab, and much more missing text in other locations.

Blinds and the level of how blind they are doesn't matter. It's all muscle memory at that point. In normal and I guess to a lesser extend early evil, you haven't really built much muscle memory for rebirthing yet. So to get yourself in a rhythm, do a few other challs first. Easy fix. Not seeing isn't even a problem if it's all fluid movements you're trained by the game to do often.

And yeah I know that sounds a little odd, but it clicks if you ever make a second account and fart around on it. Things you remember struggling with the first time around are just like "okay this was hard why?". After enough 24 hour rebirths, you're pretty much trained by your ratios into when to shove stuff and where without even needing numerical verification.
