auto-advance haphazard?
I've rebirthed numerous times now, and only once did autoAdvance enabled new attack skills. Every other time I stay with the skills I have. I have no idea what I did that once that I'm not doing now. I'm pretty sure I ignored it then, but I ignored it every time since.

Is there something specific you do to get it to advance to the next attack skill? I know a number of things it isn't, like waiting for my energy to get high enough, like I've read in some posts, or the previous attack level to advance, but other than that, no clue.

Posts I've read talk about cap skills, but I'm definitely far beyond any cap and it still doesn't advance.

You are talking about Auto Advance in the Basic Training, yes?
Two things are required for that to work.
1) You must unlock it by buying it from the EXP shop.
2) You must assign more energy than is required.

Assuming the above has been done, then when Idle Attack gets to 5000, the extra energy automatically goes to Regular Attack. Then when Regular Attack gets to 10000 the extra goes to Strong Attack. And so on and so forth.

Sorry, I'm both just getting back to this and discovering I didn't press 'post'

Yes, I'm taking about auto advance in basic training. I'm pretty sure I have it because I can both check the box, and because it worked that one time.

I don't think I understand 2) nor your summary. I've tried waiting until idle gets to even 10k, and it doesn't advance.

"More than required" means you must assign more energy than you need to make it progress at full speed, which is 50 levels per second. This is also known as the cap. The game tells you how much energy you need in a tooltip when you hover over any of the skill bars. For me it says "Capped speed currently achieved with 1 Energy." This means that if I assign 2+ energy to Idle Attack, then when Regular Attack unlocks, 1 energy will stay assigned to Idle Attack and the rest will Auto Advance to Regular Attack. If I assign 6 energy to Idle Attack at the beginning of a rebirth, then when each successive skill unlocks the extra energy moves down until all skills have 1 energy, since all of my skills have a cap of 1.

Also it's worth mentioning that it doesn't matter when you assign the extra energy. I could assign 9 billion energy into Idle Attack right now, 5 hours into a rebirth, and it will all jump down to the last skill because the first 5 are already capped.
