NGU Money
So, I've been playing for a while but I've been realizing that making money to try to get in the Septillions and keeping it there is hilariously difficult. How do you guys make money? I've basically gone up to Beardverse/Beat Walderp. When I rebirth, my money generally hoovers around 1-3 septillion when I cap out on 5000 on energy and 1500 magic levels in Time Machine. Anyone got some sort of optimized setup to obtain more moolah? On another note as well, same thing goes for my adventure stats. They're a little below 20 mil when I get back to my Easy Mode bottleneck.

To add to the above, I literally have like 10k levels in Gold in Energy NGUs, but it's like every rebirth I have less and less to my 'bottleneck' amount.

Time machine output scales based on the largest amount gained from an adventure zone or titan kill. If you have any gear sitting around that you haven't been using which has a gold bonus on it, you might try to swap that in for a bit. You can always switch it back to something else after you get a kill that updates the time machine output.

Not sure what else can be said beyond that....

Sooner or later you reach a point where it doesn't necessarily mean that much whether or not you managed to optimize time machine output. (Certainly not for augments or blood rituals, at least. There are digger max level upgrades to pay for though, and then you drain some of the GPS from the time machine to pay for active digger levels.) The amount of energy or magic you have ends up being the limiting factor on augments and rituals while the gold that augments and rituals ask for becomes irrelevant. Somewhere towards the end of each difficulty mode you might even be capable of running all the augments/rituals you want at capped speed with a relatively trivial portion of your energy and magic.

You'll just get to points like that naturally eventually as you improve EM stats and build up relevant bonuses. It is a slow path to get there though. Idle game.

For reference: I'm somewhere in sadistic difficulty mode. (Autokilling the v3 version of this difficulty's first new titan.) Gold on hand tends to be somewhere around the e82 range, give or take a bit. Digger max level upgrade costs for me are also currently in the e82 range. Costs for next levels in augments and augment upgrades can be anywhere between e9 and e25. Costs for next levels in rituals can be anywhere between e7 and e23.

What makes all the difference with augments and blood rituals for me is how much of my current 1.4e18 energy cap and 1.1e18 magic cap I feel like I can spare in them and what that can get me. This would easily be way more than enough to run things at capped speed through full length rebirths in normal or evil difficulties, but in sadistic... Well, I never care about optimization in augments anyway so I just dump 1e16 energy onto each augment and upgrade and I let them do whatever they're going to do with that. I probably ought to only put it all onto energy buster and charge shot, but meh. (Who cares?) And in the blood rituals I can currently run the first 5 rituals at capped speed and then I just put the same amount of magic onto the 6th ritual as what capped the 5th ritual (which is currently in the e17 range). I'm ignoring the 7th and 8th rituals for now. Too early in this difficulty mode to get much out of them.

Hmmm... Are you at a point yet where you can get any use out of the "counterfeit gold" spell? Minimum 1 million (aka 1e6) blood needed per cast. I'm not sure which ritual would supply enough blood for that for you back in normal difficulty... For me, in sadistic, the 2nd ritual is currently producing 2.5e6 blood per bar fill. Anyway, counterfeit gold multiplies the time machine output.

Oh, hey... septillion is e24, yes? So you might actually be not too far off from the total trivialization of augment / ritual gold requirements. Once you can comfortably bring in octillions, maybe, it should only be your energy and magic holding you back on those features.

I recall that around Walderp is where I started to use different gear load-outs. For example, when I am trying to seed my time machine, I'll wear gear that gives % increase in gold gains, then I'll change over to NGU-related gear for much of the remaining run time.

I might do some Drop Chance gear if I was in an adventure zone wanting drops, or if I was online at the time when Walderp is going to be fought, and try to get more Walderp gear as well.

Somewhere around here, I also started using the blood spells for gold gains. Blood was finally being acquired in large enough amounts that were making that spell worthwhile to use for about the first 30-60 mins of a new rebirth.

You'll also soon do challenges where you can gain another multiplier for gold gains as well.

Your beards, diggers, NGU , and other features will slowly add more and more gold % increases to your overall gains.

There will also be different phases from now on, where you can use your normal gains to feed your diggers, or where you won't be able to use your normal gains, but you'll be able to use your Yggdrasil Gold gains at the end your rebirth.

Just keep on increasing up and your gains will make you better every day.
