In particular you will want to get energy speed to 50 (its cap) fairly quickly while spending a bit in the other three.
You can more or less spend the same amount of exp in each of power and cap (and continue that trend for a long time) while spending a portion of that in bars.

Later on you will have a use for magic and will have to spend your exp between energy and magic.

When other things (except adventure stats, forget that the tab even exists in the exp spending menu) are cheap enough to get you can get those as well since there are a lot of nice things to grab as well but your focus will remain on energy and magic as the priority.

In the very early game you want to dump the vast majority of your energy into basic training since levelling those means lowering the amount of energy required to level them in the next rebirth.
In each rebirth you can reduce the required energy by 10% of what it needs at the time (the tooltip of each entry will tell you if you reached the maximum reduction).

Eventually you will only need 1 energy for each entry to level them at maximum speed (50 levels per second), freeing your energy for other things like the time machine, augments, advanced training and other features you will unlock by progressing through the adventure mode's zones.

The equipment dropped by the first few adventure zones have bonuses to energy speed so it's not problematic right away but it definitely becomes an issue when you start to get more and more exp into your energy cap since it means taking ridiculously long to build up to your cap without speed and bars.
