Melvor Idle
Hi guys I hope that it's ok for me to post this, if not please ignore my post.
I'm currently at the point, where NGU has slowed down a lot. RN I'm preparing to continue further into evil difficulty. Farming the evilverse armor set. So what does this have to do with my topic? I usually love playing one or two idle games and Melvor Idle has caught my eye. It looks pretty interesting. But it costs around 6 to 7 €. So out of a NGU veteran who has played that game, can any of you recommend that game? And again I am sorry if this is against ToS or anything.

You are not advertising so you're not breaking any rules.
I haven't played the game so I can't help you, sorry. Have you tried posting on the Melvor Idle discussion board?

Hi.
Not yet, because I mostly wanted the opinion of long time NGU players also playing MI. They kinda look similiar, yet so different.

Ok, what about the NGU Discord server? It's a lot more active than this board.

I haven't played it (hadn't even heard of it, and usually I'm keeping an eye out on idle games that are coming to steam), but a little poking around showed that apparently it has its own dedicated website where it can be played in the browser for free. There would be ads there while the steam version would have no ads. Only other difference would be the presence of steam achievements.

It says that there's a cloud save system that's connected between all platforms so if you do choose to play on steam later after starting it in the browser you'll be able to keep all of your progress (and steam achievements ought to trigger for things you've already done).

Tangentially related - most people recommend skipping the Evilverse set at first, as well as possibly the zone after it. You can probably reach - and defeat - the first Evil Titan more easily than you might expect, and its drops are far superior. You can come back and max the set for the bonus later, once you have a better drop chance and can oneshot everything.

The melvor dev is a cool guy, and melvor idle took a solid month or 2 chunk out of my idle-life.

tl;dr yes recommended.

ps: i do have to close the thread though cause this is meant to be strictly about ngu discussion
