Inventory and card slots are pretty nice but not exactly required if you are fairly active.
After that, all that really remains are the consumable items, you will probably want to spend a bit on poop every now and then and use it on all of the fruits that can benefit from it since it's fairly cheap.
If you do your major quests by manually, beast butter will net you a considerable amount of QP.
Quite a few people use the potions for resource 3 to do a full day of hacks every now and then and use that resource on wishes the rest of the time.
After reaching the hard cap on power and cap for energy and magic, you can do a similar thing with the potions for those resources and sadistic NGU since it's the only way to go beyond the hard cap for power.
Using EM power potions is good, they are cheap. Both R3 potions on hack runs ofc.
And mayo infusers here and there give a boost in the end. Especially around RL where you start reaching max tiers and have quite mayo speed. Given how many of them there are and how long after it takes until diminishing return I would almost say it's the most relevant consumable.
But to compare consumables I would consider the cost per day and I ordered them how much "goods" they bring compared to each other:
1 day worth* QP costs 32k
1 day worth* cards costs 35k**
1 day worth* PP costs 75k
*) blue hearth bonus not included but it adds to all so comparison is still relevant
**) mayo cost is lowered because of double yggdrasil harvest overlap effect
(poop worthless, free ones are enough and cycle the few "relevant" after major jump in ygg strength.. as long as the jumps exist pre-RL, irrelevant after)
And normally I would suggest stock up anything that is on sale for a year ahead. But that doesn't work anymore since 4G become somewhat lazy and there are no regular updates anymore :(
