in a nutshell:
when you begin adding in Bank Perks for Advanced Training and Beards, those will also help you to continue growing and having higher Adventure Stats faster. For example, I now start Advanced Training with 100,000 levels already done. Compare that to 0 like it used to be, you can see the benefit!
however, you can get to Hard Beast without them, so if you want to use your perk points or quest points for something else, it should still be OK also.
Curious, how do you cap those NGUs? Does there come a point when the six in energy stop slowing down? (The fastest one for me is like 0.7 seconds while the slowest of the six is at 2.2)
Think of it this way. For the first level of any NGU, if you have x amount of cap and y amount of power, it will take z time to finish. With the same x cap and y power, the second level takes twice as long, or 2z time. Then, going from level 2 to level 3 requires 3z time. Going from level 2 to 3 takes three times as long as going from 0 to 1, but only 50% longer than going from 1 to 2. So, each successive level takes one more z of time to complete, with any given x and y.
(from the wiki: Cost for level N -> N+1 = N+1 times cost for level 0 -> 1)
Now, when you have a lot of levels in any given NGU, you can see how the increase in time required becomes imperceptible. Say you have 100m in an NGU, and you're leveling at full speed, that is, 50 per second. After 24 hours spent leveling, the total level has increased by less than 5% (4.32m), which means the time to reach the next level will also have increased by less than 5%.
They never stop slowing down, but the slow down becomes meaningless. Your stat growth from exp purchases and gear upgrades will exceed the growth rate for time required. Beard Cage and NGU Diggers also help. You will hit the speed cap a long, long time before you reach 100m.
