*SPOILERS* Walderp
Spent a few days idling to get the Beardverse gear set, along the way finally buffed my stats enough to take on Walderp.

Trouble is he is cheating. It is the third or fourth time I've killed him, last time he mentioned something about having only four smoke bombs.

I get him 2/3's of the way dead (yellow/red health bar), and after a few rounds of fisticuffs and a few "[Walderp says] hit me" as usual, he says

"Hit me with an Ultimate Attack", I hit him with a piercing attack, and he nukes me.
then, next,
"Hit me with a Regular Attack", I respond with a strong, and he nukes me.

Not "Walderp Says"; and I am not too slow on the response. Cheatin MF.

Edit:
Finally got through him, maybe I was using Parry, which he doesn't count an attack?

I recently got to the point where I can auto kill him, I felt like he has such a low drop rate it wasn't worth manually fighting him for gear so I just did enough to get the candy which I stuck into the daycare. Then when when I got the the point where I could auto kill him I equipped the second cane I got. Now when I use money pit it doesn't matter if it levels up my gear or daycare it still hits a cane.

he was an absolute pain to fight but I waited a while before going for the cane, and just focused on yggdrasil and hitting 1000 in my beards. When I went after the last basic canes I needed he was much easier since my stats had grown.

One thing that can sometimes happen with the adventure log is that some combinations of long boss names and damage messages and/or drops messages can end up making the line take more than its line, pushing down the other text.
When that happens the last line (or even last few lines) stay hidden until a new line (or lines) get added as the last.

Usually it doesn't matter, it can be slightly annoying at best but with walderp it can mean that his "says" lines get hidden until you attack or get blasted for not following his "rules" (since you can't see it).

You can either make a save and restart the game (to clear the log) or put energy into the advanced training for block and use that when the next blow is supposed to come (at 90% or more even explosions don't kill you easily after all).

Yes, Walderp can be a pain to kill.
There is an easy way though :lunar2019grinningpig:
In Advanced Training level your block efficiency to 95+% and use block along with any Attack.
This way you'll survive the explosion and get the achievement to prove it as well

Tips appreciated, but my mistake was thinking Parry counted as a "hit me". It doesn't. Once I mentally deleted Parry from rotation, Walderp was easy to finish. I never block anything, thanks for the tip about an achievement, I'll have to set up for it sometime.

If you just want the achievement there is an even easier way, put your adventure mode on manual, go to the forest, change zone back and forth (or kill) until you get the fairy give it a few seconds without attacking it so it explodes for a damage so minimal that you won't even notice the attack.

Querry: What if you boost your stats up to auto kill Walderp before even attempting to fight him? Would it just auto kill him, or would you have to sit and fight him first? And if you do it idle vs manual, would he still do all these annoying things?

I am currently in a 7.5 Day rebirth. I was grinding out adventure stats to the point where I can just auto kill Uug w/o the gold digger for adv stats. I've done that. But now I am farming up the rings and perk points. Beards are leveling up, still eating the Fruit of Adventure (maxxed at Lv 10, which is when I eat it) so it can help me more.. I am trying to get to the point where I can kill stuff in Beardverse.

You wouldn't since one of the auto-kill conditions for walderp is defeating him 3 times (and that is 3 times after the unlock quest where you need to find him).
But higher stats mean that the fight takes less time so it makes it significantly less annoying.
