How long did you have to stay in BeardVerse?
Asking because I've been grinding that zone for over a MONTH now, my gear was maxed out ages ago and by the looks of things it will be atleast another month before I have any hope of surviving in BDW or against Walderp. It's fun when you make progress. This... not so much.

If you stay that long in beardverse without being able to go against walderp you are probably either doing something wrong with your features or you are missing something important.

So let's start with things you could have missed since there are a few.
First and maybe obvious is the beard feature that you unlocked with UUG.
Beards are powered primarily by your "bars", either energy or magic depending on the beard (1, 3, 5 and 7 are using magic while 2, 4 and 6 are using energy), that stat's power also impacts it but to a lesser extent and cap has absolutely no impact.
Active beards gain levels and when you rebirth (provided that it is after the 60 minutes mark but ideally closer to 24 hours) the levels of all of your active beards are passed through a formula and give levels to that beard's permanent level that give a bonus no matter if the beard is active or not (on top of the bonus from the temporary levels if the beard is active).
This feature should be able to give you a growing bonus on multiple very important aspects, including adventure stats.

I doubt you climbed beyond UUG without it but the basic challenge is a fairly important source of adventure stats and by that point in the game you should be more than powerful enough to fully clear it in barely any time as well as climb back to unlock access to walderp again.
In fact you should in theory be able to clear nearly half of the challenges and at least get the first few clears of the rest excluding the laser sword challenge.
Those other challenges don't directly boost your adventure stats but their rewards are pretty potent either way.

NGU and gold diggers are important sources of bonuses including adventure stats, the later can become fairly potent if you don't neglect your time machine too much at the start of your rebirth.

Advanced training might reset every time you rebirth but it is also an important source of bonus for adventure stats.

And on rebirth length you should have noticed with the yggdrasil fruits already but the game wants you to have somewhat longer rebirths as you continue to progress, beards (and the soon rank 24 fruits) push the ideal rebirth length to 24 hours.
That length allows you to take full advantage of time machine, advanced training, blood magic (incuding iron pill ideally twice a day for some increase in adventure stats) and NGU as well.

Walderp has a very special feature that prevents you from fighting him with auto attack unless your stats are ridiculously high already.
If your country of origin doesn't have a similar game it's easy to not understand how it works but basically you want to have all of your attacks off cooldown every 20 seconds or so when he tells you something in your adventure log.
If what he says starts with "walderp says ", quickly use the attack he named against him or he will 1-shot you.
If it does not, use a different attack against him, emphasis on "attack", it needs to damage him or he will treat it as a fail and 1-shot you just like if you use the attack he tells you about.

It doesn't even end there, when you defeat him he will be in a random menu in the game, you have to find him and click on him, he changes where he is every few minutes as well.

You need to do that loop 4 times before you can finally stop having to search for him and instead get loot when you defeat him.

If it has been that long then your yggdrasil fruits should be pretty high by now so the reward from the third clear of the troll challenge will probably be something to look at, it raises the maximum rank you can upgrade your fruits to from 10 to 24.
At rank 24 the fruit of knowledge will become a big source of exp.

You probably spent most of your time in itopod rather than beardverse after you levelled and boosted the set, so your bonuses from PP should be looking pretty decent as well, which will help you going forward.
Same for your base energy and magic stats, if you kept raising them with the exp you are gaining you should have a solid base to continue onward.

The progression definitely slows down after mega land but over a month in the same zone and not seeing yourself get to the next zone in at least one more month is not the standard at all unless you are at the very end of the game.

Idk what all your values are at so it's hard to give specific advice, but I'd just say to make sure you're taking full advantage of all the tools you have at hand.

Keep dumping xp into energy and magic, use and upgrade your gold diggers, level up your NGUs a ton, keep that adventure beard growing (if unlocked), utilize your fruits, your advanced training, increase time machine output (heaps of gold makes things go more smoothly), do your challenges, keep PP rolling in when you're not loot grinding, etc.

Make sure you're wearing whatever gear optimizes what you're working on atm too.

Falling behind in any particular area will really start to hamper your overall progress.

24h rebirths, no longer. And make sure you follow the Walderp rules, or he will one shot you no matter stat.

But to your question, it took me exactly a month between first UUG kill and first Beast kill. It gets slower and slower but I've never felt there is nothing to do or that I just wait doing nothing. There is always some bonus around the corner every day.

Have been doing 24h rebirths and completed the laser sword challenge twice. I don't think I've been neglecting any of the things mentioned but something somewhere seems an order of magnitude off.
